Biographical Sketch
udhanva Gurumurthi received his Ph.D. in Computer
Science and Engineering from Pennsylvania
State University in 2005. He joined the University of Virginia in 2005 as
an Assistant Professor of Computer Science. He received the NSF CAREER Award in 2007, the CSE Research Assistant Award in 2004, and the Robert M. Owens Memorial Scholarship in 2003. Sudhanva has served on several Technical Program Committees, including PACT 2006, ASPLOS 2008, and SIGMETRICS 2008.
Research
urumurthi works in the area of computer architecture, with a focus on I/O and processor reliability. He was formerly a member of the Computer Systems Lab at Penn State
University and has worked at the IBM Austin Research Laboratory and at the Fault-Aware Computing Technology (FACT) Group at Intel. Sudhanva's research group is investigating issues related to power and temperature management of server storage systems, the design of novel storage devices, and microprocessor reliability.
