Algorithmic Analysis of Human DNA Replication Timing
ABSTRACT
Our work involves an interdisciplinary collaboration with the department of Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics to develop algorithms for characterizing human DNA replication timing. Our algorithms accurately and efficiently reconstruct continuous DNA replication timing profiles from discrete microarray data. Our results have been validated by independent biological experiments, and have been used to design new lab studies in cancer research. Our work addresses issues of computational robustness, data reliability, and noise attenuation. Our algorithms and techniques achieve time complexities over three orders of magnitude faster than previous approaches, enabling our methods to scale up to whole genome analyses. Results from this work have been published in leading journals such as Science, Nature, and Genome Research. Other Recent and Upcoming Colloquia |
