Topics Include

Main topics in the course include an introduction to what real-time systems are and are not, real-time scheduling, real-time architectures and operating systems (kernels) including multiprocessor kernels, real-time programming languages (including RT Java), system integration, and ubiquitous/pervasive computing which itself includes mobile and wireless networking, component based real-time OSs, real-time middleware such as Jini, and embedded databases.
