The generic C compiler is cc. It accepts ANSI C and K&R on the Solaris machines, and K&R style only under SunOS 4.x. It is invoked by the command:

cc file1.c [file2.c ... ]

For more information on its usage, type man cc. Note that cc invokes a different compiler on a Sun OS machine than on a Solaris machine. Solaris is backward compatible.
