Abstract

Using version control systems, you can record the history of source files. Bugs often creep in when software is modified. Using version control systems, you can easily retrieve old versions of the software. They are also very helpful when you are part of a group working on the same project. It is all too easy to overwrite each others' changes unless you are extremely careful. Version control systems solve this problem by isolating the different developers from each other.
