Some people like frisbee, some people like volleyball, some people like b-ball, some people like poker, some people like the Indigo Girls. Why should somebody who only wants to know when basketball is happening have to see frisbee or volleyball emails? It's not like it costs a lot of resources to create new lists, or like it's a lot of effort to sign up for new ones. If you're going to send them all to the same place, you might as well just have one mailing list like happyhour and send mail there, but why decrease the signal-to-noise ratio? It might be worthwhile to do something like the inverse of what csgrads does, and create a csrec list that all the sports/recreation lists forward to. We might even be able have it forward out to all the lists, too, if mailman's smart enough to avoid loops. -Aprotim On 4/1/07, Dan Upton wrote: > > We should just have one generic "CS-Sports" email list or something, > instead of frisbee, bball, softball, and piggy-backing random other sports > on the lists. > > > Hey all! > > > > > > > > Time for another silly fun volleyball game.
