[splint-discuss] Use of splint

After a couple of recent messages : 'const tests' and 'no warnings but gcc doesn't compile'
I think that splint is a tool to used after the compiler has run with no errors or warnings,
because  splint can't be expected to correctly report the errors it is aimed for if the program
has other errors.
