I upgraded the compiler from CVF6.6A to CVF6.6B and see slightly higher results.

HW: Asus P4T533-C motherboard, Intel Pentium 4 2.8 GHz, 533 MHz FSB,
            4 x 256MB Kingston PC1066 RDRAM w/o ECC (KVR1066X16-8/256)
    SW: Windows NT4/SP6,
            Compaq Visual Fortran 6.6b, -opt:5 -fast -arch:pn4 -tune:pn4

    ----------------------------------------------
Double precision appears to have 16 digits of accuracy
Assuming 8 bytes per DOUBLE PRECISION word
    ----------------------------------------------
     Array size = 41234567
     Offset = 0
The total memory requirement is 943 MB
You are running each test 10 times
The *best* time for each test is used
     ----------------------------------------------------
Your clock granularity/precision appears to be 10000 microseconds
The tests below will each take a time on the order
     of 280000 microseconds
        (= 28 clock ticks)
Increase the size of the arrays if this shows that
you are not getting at least 20 clock ticks per test.
     ----------------------------------------------------
WARNING -- The above is only a rough guideline.
For best results, please be sure you know the
     precision of your system timer.
