Below is a list of undergraduate research opportunities - these are a great way to get some experience doing research, have fun, and get a glowing recommendation for the future!

REU info Research Experience for Undergraduates. Very successful NSF program where undergraduates apply to work with faculty members on research projects at universities across the country - typically over the summer. This is a great chance to check out work at other universities and discover new interests!
CREU info Collaborative Research Experience for Undergraduates in Computer Science and Engineering program - deadline early May. Designed to provide positive research experiences for teams of undergraduates and encourage young computer scientists and engineers from all underrepresented groups to consider graduate school. Students work with one or two sponsoring faculty members on a project for which monetary support is typically not available. Students will each receive a stipend of $3,000 for their work.
MRO-W info Multidisciplinary Research Opportunities for Women - deadline early May, program runs from fall through summer. Engages women undergraduates in computer science more fully in the research process by allowing them to investigate applications of computer science to other areas in which they may have an interest. Each team will consist of scientists from both the computing and non-computing fields as well as women undergraduate students from these respective fields. For example, a project in computational biology might consist of a computer science major, a biology major, a computer science professor, and a biology professor.
