Implementation Details

This section discusses the details of the system that are interesting, subtle, or unusual. The reader is expected to have a working knowledge of the Nachos operating system, as provided by Berkeley, and a familiarity with the Intel 80386 family of processors. While most of the eccentricities of the Intel processor can be omitted from this discussion, occasionally they played an important part in how or why something was implemented the way it was. A familiarity with the Intel architecture will help assure the reader that our implementation is not capricious and arbitrary in places where it is not intuitive.
