Biography:

I was born and brought up in the capital city of Tamil Nadu, Chennai, India.  I got my Bachelor's degree from the  Department of Computer Science of the College of Engineering Guindy (CEG), Anna University, India.  I was working as a developer for 2 years at Adobe Systems Inc., Bangalore.

Research:

I' am working on virtualizing heterogeneous processor architectures, under the guidance of Prof. Kim Hazelwood. Current heterogeneous systems provide a myriad of processing units like the GPUs, FPGAs, and Fixed Function Blocks etc. Even though these units offer abundant computing power, they remain underutilized due to the lack of synergy between them. Moreover, these units also lack portability, necessitating the users to rewrite the code again and again for each of them. My research attempts at solving these problems by providing a virtual layer abstraction. With such an abstraction, we can achieve portability, better utilization of resources and also increased energy efficiency.
