What versions of FrameMaker can I use CiteMaker with?

Currently we are providing a Windows version of CiteMaker and a Unix version for the SPARC architecture. We have tested the Windows version of CiteMaker with FrameMaker 5.1.2 and FrameMaker 5.5 on Windows 95/98/NT. It's likely that CiteMaker will work with earlier versions of FrameMaker. We have tested the SPARC version on SPARCs running Solaris 2.6 with FrameMaker 5.1. It is  likely that CiteMaker will work with other versions of FrameMaker on the SPARCs. If you have need of a Unix version of CiteMaker for another architecture, please e-mail citemaker@cs.virginia.edu regarding availability.

How do I change the fonts used in a reference list entry?

To change the fonts used in the reference list, you need to open, modify, and save the template file. A reference list entry's format is set by the paragraph style BIBENTRY. Use the paragraph designer to change BIBENTRY's default font. See Installing and Using CiteMaker for further details about customizing the reference list template file.

Which BibTeX style files can I use?

We have tested CiteMaker with the following BibTeX style files: abbrv.bst, acm.bst, acmtrans.bst, alpha.bst. amsalpha.bst, apalike.bst, ieeetr.bst, plain.bst, plainnat.bst, prsty.bst, plain.bst, unsrt.bst, and unsrtnat.bst. Style files where the label used for the citation and the reference list are the identical should work without modification. Style files where the citation label is different from the reference list label may need minor modification. See Installing and Using CiteMaker for further details about how to modify such BibTeX style files for use with CiteMaker.

Do I need to install BibTeX or LaTeX on my machine?

The CiteMaker installation process for Windows installs a version of BibTeX that it will use. The Unix version of CiteMaker requires that BibTeX be installed and in your path. CiteMaker does not use LaTex so there is no need to have it installed.
