Subject: CS340: submitting files for project demo From: Tom Horton Date: Sun, 27 Apr 2008 15:36:05 -0400 To: cs340-1@toolkit.itc.virginia.edu CS340 students: There are now links on the Toolkit's HW submission area for you to submit your files for your final project demos this week. The link to the site is here (and will be on the website too soon): https://toolkit.itc.virginia.edu/cgi-local/tk/UVa_SEAS_2008_Spring_C_S340-1/displayassignments Below are the instructions for what to submit. Note the info about the "readme" file. IMPORTANT: (1) You'll be asked to demo your programs using these files that you submit, which we'll give you access to in lab. (2) But, bring a copy of your files on a USB drive in case there is a problem with what you submit. (3) After "assembling" your files for submission and before submitting, try to re-build and run your program to make sure you're submitting a working program. Another email on the demo itself will follow this email... Tom Horton ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- Instructions: (also on Toolkit submission site) ----- Submit one or more files for your part(s) of the project. The files you submit will probably be .zip or .jar files -- feel free to export an Eclipse project. Submit *everything* you need -- you'll be demo'ing your project using these files. In addition, you must also submit a "readme" file with a file-name as described below. (Example name: wed12-player-README.txt) More than one person in a group can submit files -- each person who submits must include the "readme". (We'll be able to find all files for each group by looking for the "readme" files for a given group.) It's OK for there to be just one submission for the server for a pair of groups working together. Another purpose of the "readme" file is for you to tell us briefly what's in each file, and how a working program can be executed using those files. (E.g. is it Eclipse projct? What class has main()? Are there assumptions about where files are located? Etc.) Your "readme" file must with be named with this format: --README.txt where is "mon" or "wed", and is your group-number (1-14), and is "server", "player" or "admin". For example, wed13-player-README.txt mon12-admin-README.txt mon13-server-README.txt We'll assume the server submitted by a given group, e.g. group 7, is the one to use for the partner group (e.g. 8) too. If both partner groups submit servers, we'll talk during the demo about which to use. -- Dr. Tom Horton, Associate Professor Dept. of Computer Science, University of Virginia 151 Engineer's Way, P.O.
