The account configuration tool can be reached by going to Tools->E-mail Accounts.
On the E-mail Accounts window, select "Add a new e-mail account" and click on "Next"
Fill out the appropriate settings for your account. Both of the mail server entries should be set to "mail.cs.virginia.edu".
Select IMAP and then click on "Next"

Click on "More Settings" on the E-mail Accounts window
Select the "Advanced" Tab and check "This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL)" for both Incoming Server (IMAP) and Outgoing Server (SMTP). Click "OK" when finished.

Once you are back to the account settings pane. Click "Next" and then "Finished" on the next window.
The first time you attempt to check your email, you will see an Internet Security Warning.

To make this go away, open up Internet Explorer and point it to https://mail.cs.virginia.edu:993
This will bring up a security alert, click on "View Certificate"
Click on "Install Certificate" to start the Certificate Import wizard.

Select "Next"
Leave the option on "Automatically select the certificate store based on the type of certificate" click on "Next"
Click on "Finish" to complete the process. From now on, when you check your email, the warning will not appear.
