• Before starting PC-Pine for the first time, download the CS Department pinerc configuration file template from pc-pine and uncompress the file in the pine program folder.
  Change the name from pinerc.default to pinerc
  
• Open pinerc in your favorite text editor and change the following strings to reflect your specific information:

  From: personal-name=End User user-id=userid To: personal-name=Joe Smith user-id=joesmith

  You should now be able to use pine.

To enable IMAP over SSL with SMTP, just add the following lines to your pinerc:
