Obtaining An IP Address
Just send an email
Obtaining an IP Address is as simple as emailing root@cs.virginia.edu.
In this email, include:
- The Mac Address of your computer
- The Hostname of your computer
Don't know how to find this information?
Open a command line in Windows and type: ipconfig /all
This will return information about the computer you are using. The Hostname and Mac Address (aka: physical address) can be found here.
That's it! Root will let you know as soon as they have assigned you an IP.
