This user is riding a traditional touring bicycle.
  • The bicycle is mounted on a platform that can tilt forwards and backwards by 12 degrees.
  • The platform is controlled by an electric motor in its base.
  • The rear wheel is placed in a CompuTrainer Pro stand. A variable resistance load generator on the stand provides a load on the rear wheel to simulate the effects of a hill on the pedaling forces.
  • The user can change his velocity in the environment by pedaling faster or slower and he can change his facing direction in the environment by turning the handlebars +/- 20 degrees.
  • The user observes his interaction with the environment via a tracker and head mounted display.
