1. install java |
If you don't already have it, install java version 1.4.2X. You can get it here. |

2. download Tomcat |
Download Tomcat from Apache. You can download Tomcat here. |

3. install Tomcat |
Run the .exe installer for Tomcat that you downloaded above. Follow the installer's instructions. Note: on the "Choose Components" screen, expand the Tomcat node and check the "Service" box. This will make Tomcat run as a Windows service. |

4. download Xindice |
Download Xindice from Apache. It can be downloaded here. |

5. deploy Xindice |
Unzip the Xindice .zip file. Copy xindice-1.1b4.war to your Tomcat webapps directory. For example, on the default install of Tomcat you would copy xindice-1.1b4.war to: c:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat 5.0\webapps.
Finally, rename the copy of xindice-1.1b4.war to xindice.war. |

6. setup the Xindice database for WSRF.NET |
Go to the WSRF.NET bin directory (e.g.
c:\WSRFdotNet\Bin) and run XindiceDbSetup.exe
