Storm Brewing Over Casa Grande

A late afternoon thunderstorm began to gather over Casa Grande at Big Bend National Park on September 23, 1996 right around sunset. This picture captures it's progress just after sunset while some of the clouds are still illuminated by the quickly failing light. Within an hour after sunset, the storm started producing some excellent lighting and thunder behind Casa Grande. Lucky f or us we got the light show without having the storm actually come over us in the Chisos Basin. (Unfortunately, this picture did not scan in very well - the colors on Casa Grande are pretty dull. Hopefully I will get a chance in the near future to try to rescan it.)
