Just to make sure that we got good and behind schedule on our first day, we made a 1 hour detour to Enchanted Rock State Park, that turned into 3 hours. Enchanted Rock is basically just a big rock - a VERY BIG rock. I seem to recall that it is like the second largest exposed chunk of granite in the US (behind Stone Mountain, Georgia?) Well, this picture gives you a flavor of what it's like. You can fairly easily climb to the top in about 20 minutes or so.
