For a non-morning person like myself, this picture required quite an effort. This was taken sometime around 7:00 AM on March 1, 1996 from Yavapai Point on the South Rim of the Grand Canyon . The morning was bitter cold (I'd say in the low 20's) and windy along the rim, but seeing the sun come up over the canyon was well worth it. There were a few other hearty sightseers there, but when the sun came up everyone just got very quiet - a very cool moment. I was pleased with how well the pictures came out, but it's still no substitute for the real thing.
