Rocks Offs Monterrey Coast

The drive down the Pacific Coast Highway is probably my favorite in the world (at least as far as I've traveled to date). This picture captures just a small fraction of the scenic beauty of the area - the surf, the rugged, rocky landscape, and the wild life. If you look closely you'll see several sea gulls both flying and sitting on the rocks trying to avoid the wind and sea spray. Right near here you can often catch a glimpse of sea otters and pelicans and just down the road there is a sanctuary for sea lions. Any time is a great time to roam the beaches and coastline near Monterrey, but sunset is the best (this picture was taken a bit before sunset).
