One of my goals in life is to visit as many of the national parks as possible
(along with going to as many Major League Baseball parks as I can ... but
I digress).
Over the last few years, I've been fortunate enough to greatly expand my list
of visited parks and to revisit a few others (though I haven't been to nearly as
many as I'd have liked). I've also discovered that national parks do not have a
monopoly on great scenery administered by the National Park Service. Other types
of wilderness areas, such as those designated as national monuments, seashores,
historic parks, etc. are also well worth a visit. So, this page is not strictly
limited to national parks, but contains photos from all types of national
park system areas.
