Research
I am applying my training in linguistics to the investigation
of communicative issues associated with the generation of valid
software requirements. My dissertation focuses on insights and
implications afforded by a cognitive linguistic analysis of requirements
errors, and the definition of structured artifacts designed to
embody properties indicated by the analysis to increase the
potential for accurate and effective communication of
essential domain knowledge.
In addition, I research issues in forensic software engineering, including
human cognitive habits and limits that provide sources of system failures,
as well as the influence of these habits and limits on how failure is
investigated. I recently had the opportunity to develop and lead a
graduate seminar on
software
forensics.
