Friday Poem

I like meter and rhyme, but do we always need both?

Untitled Poem

A verse with meter but no rhyme
was ordered back a bit in time ago,
a verse I write that I might show frame
my words with structure not the same my wont.
The lack of rhyming shall not haunt plague
my dreams with terrors dark and vague odd.
Though rhyming might deserve a nod some praise
I’m not so settled in my ways the past,
and scope for verse is much too vast wide
to always in the rhyming hide sulk.
Though my physique may lack much bulk tone,
I’m not so craven as to moan wince
at verse with meter but no sense rhyme!
