Untitled Poem

A person I knew just a bit
  Told me she liked the way I speak,
A comment that just didn’t fit
      The model I had made of me.
I do not think I’m awfully vain
  (Though I am not exactly meek)
But thought my speech was, in the main
      Within the bounds of normalcy.
