I like to be outside and moving... here are some things I especially seem to like. However, I seem to keep encountering new things I want to try, and new goals to achieve.

I like to run on occasion.

  • 2003: Trained for and completed the NYC Marathon (my first). It was exciting.
  • November, 2005: Cmpleted the Richmond Marathon with a personal best, even though I was still physically exhausted from the Shenandoah Mountain 100 mountain bike race which was in September, 2005.
  • Since 2005: I have completed several 5k races, ten-milers, and half marathons, including my first off-road half marathon in September, 2007.

Road Cycling

I like to enjoy the countryside by bicycle. I've been on many rides with very nice groups of people, but here are a few highlights.

  • June 2003: Participated in the MS 150 Bike Tour, which covers approximately 150 miles on 2 consecutive days. It was RAINING heavily the entire first day? I rode with Team Crutchfield and I still had a really great time. I even had a chance to pull out my chain tool and help someone who broke their chain just after the bicycle support vehicle had just passed them. Anyhow, take a look at some pics from the ride here.
  • 2005 and 2007: Mountain Momma Bike Challenge (Monterey, VA). 80 mile (2005) and 50 mile (2007) option.
