Hello CS3102 Theory Students,

Ask Me Anything Session:

During the second half of the last lecture (this Tuesday), in the great tradition of Richard Feynman and Scott Aaronson, we'll have an "Ask Me Anything" session, where you can ask me any questions you'd like on any topic whatsoever. For example, see one of Aaronson's "Ask Me Anything" sessions. So please think up some good questions, and lets have some fun with it! :)

Final Exam Logistics:

The final exam will be a take home exam in a very similar format to the midterm (six consecutive hours of exam work time, within the time window of Thursday May 4 through 5pm on Friday May 12). There will be a more detailed Email announcement when the final exam is available for downloading.

All readings and extra-credit submission are due by 5pm on Saturday May 13.

The TA office hours will continue until the end of the finals period. See the class Web site for the TA office hours schedule.

Tesla Demo Day:

On Sunday May 14 at 3:00pm we'll have a Tesla demo day, in the Small Hall parking lot right outside Rice Hall, for everyone who is interested in this new technology. A lot of algorithms and theory -related innovation went into the design of this electric car. I'll be happy to show you the features, answer questions, and take people for a short demo ride (four passengers at a time). You are very welcome to bring friends for this demo if you'd like.

For information about the Tesla Model S, please see the Tesla Model S Wiki page as well as the Tesla official page. Tesla is about to release their latest fully-robotic software - see their incredible self-driving demo video. Another cool video of is of a Tesla Model S beating a Boeing 737 jet in a drag race (until the jet becomes airborne of course).

For planning purposes, please Email me if you plan to attend the Tesla demo. (If there is a high demand, we may schedule a second demo day/session as well.)

See you on Sunday May 14 at 3pm for the Tesla demo.
