I am currently employed as a software engineer here in Charlottesville. I have also recently become a father for the first time and am having a blast with my son, Pierce. He's probably about the happiest baby I've ever met and he makes me one happy daddy. I've got to give credit to my wife for taking care of him on a regular basis and for delivering the kid with no pain meds. Go Katie!

Hopefully, I'll eventually get around to updating this page with some more recent pictures.

I was previously a research scientist here at the University of Virginia. My research was under the guidance of Marty Humphrey.

Background

Just a little background on myself. For my undergraduate studies, I attended the College of William and Mary which is located in the quaint tourist trap of Williamsburg, VA. I majored in Computer Science while there and decided to continue my education in this subject at UVA. I found UVA's Computer Science Department to be a good stepping stone for my development.

Some stuff I did as a grad student:

Theory of Computation
- Finite Automaton Simulator
Legion-G is the implementation of Legion running over the Grid Security Infrastructure (GSI). This was an area of research that I worked in with Marty and Glenn Wasson. This project is pretty much dead as interest has dwindled.

I'm currently working locally (and have been since '04) doing development in the Marine Navigation world.

Interests

Things I enjoy doing include: Playing basketball, spending time with my wife, hanging out and leading the youth at Berean Baptist Church , playing PS2 (to my detriment), spending time with family, and most of all having a relationship with my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
