Research Project

As a research assistant in the second semester, I started to work in the REEact project under Prof. Mary Lou Soffa and Prof. Jack Davidson.

As the advancement in current multi-core architecture, there is not much performance gain for the applications because the operating system cannot fully utilize the hardware resource as multiple CPUs. REEact involves research for maximizing the performance of multithreaded applications on such architecture, by minimizing the support from operating system and running those on virtual machine with the help of software dynamic translator, aggressive online monitoring and thread migration.
