Background
I started working for the University as a Programmer for the User Services
group at Academic Computing in June, 1984. One year later I found myself
in a Programmer Analyst slot working with mini-computers and some "new"
AT&T UNIX machines. One of the projects in which I involved myself was
the task of introducing the UNIX operating system to selected University
departments through what was known as the Sun Loaner program. Through this project I learned
the joys of UNIX system administration which helped me prepare for
a switch to the department of Electrical Engineering as their Computer Systems
Engineer in April of 1991. After working in this capacity I moved
back to Academic Computing (now known as ITC) as the Computer Systems Engineer for
the Engineering School. I now find myself working under the title
of Computer Systems Senior Engineer for the department of Computer
Science, in charge of a hard working computing support staff.
In the midst of all this, I started and finished a masters in Systems
Engineering. I graduated in December, 1995.
