中秋快乐
今天晚上中秋节，中国学生会搞了个晚会，主要就是让鬼子们唱中文歌，再吃点月饼。
结束以后碰到一些中国人拉人去K歌，想去见识见识就跟着去了，后来才知道是某人的生日。
这几天都下雨，天都是阴的，看不到月亮，等到我下车时居然发现月亮了，好亮好圆，大概要天晴了吧。
去的是一个韩国餐馆，面积较大，有一个比较大的包厢用来k歌。
都是一些狂老的歌曲，有的听都没听过（当然新的我也很多不知道）。
系统用的音乐压缩极厉害，所以效果很差，也没有原声和MTV。这个破地方也就这点娱乐水平了，呵呵。发现韩国的东西倒挺好吃，吃了点肉和青菜，颇有合肥的三千里的风味。
OK，睡觉了，明早再洗澡，太晚了。

Got my learner's permit today
Finally I passed the exam and got my license!
So I could consider buying a car and practice for the road test.
一开始真担心考不过又要重来，做题目很小心。
前面10道Traffic Sign题，必须全对
后面25道knowledge考得还真偏，饶是我做了N遍Sample Test还是有几道不会做。

前23道错了3道，剩下两道系统自动skip了，因为允许错5道。
真开心，回来是我开的，还不丑。第一次开自动车，第一次在States开车。

Three graduate CS students recently violated department policy on the
usage of resources:
- Student #1 was supporting FTP service on an unconventional port and
had key crackers and cracked software on his/her machine. This was
a second serious offense for this student. This student has had
all access to CS computing resources revoked permanently, subject
to appeal.
- Student #2 had p2p, key cracking and multiple movies on his/her
machine. This student will have limited access (through a
dedicated X terminal) to CS resources for the next three months.
- Student #3 had a cracked copy of one piece of software
installed on his/her machine. The circumstances under which this
software came to be on the student's machine led to an exception,
where the student was given a stern warning but was not given the
sanction for a first offense.

After woking hard for several days..
I finally finished the programming part of the computer architecture assignment.
Yesterday night I had to again stay up to 3 am!
And I can't get asleep for a long while after I went to bed.
I think I'm too tired for several consecutive days and I have to have a entirely good sleep today.
The remaining things to do is to pass the learner's permit exam, buy a cell phone, sign up for tax exemption, read malware papers, read strata codes and papers, think the topic of malware project.

拿到了笔记本
Dell的Inspiron 600m，配置不是很好，也不是什么好deal，勉强过得去啦。
不管怎么说有了自己的电脑总是比较爽。还是不习惯用笔记本，可是没办法，总得有一个的。做presentation什么的比较方便。

参加了一个基督教的活动
参加了Chi Alpha的一个活动。
他们今天是第一次meeting，面向整个UVA的，场面非常热闹。
每个星期一晚上都会有这样的讲读bible的meeting。
先是唱那种赞歌，还挺好听的，很多人都会唱。
然后是表演drama，讲一个新生刚到UVA的一些经历，不太懂。
然后是主持人Pete讲圣经，今天好像是讲人的defining moment，说defining moment就是你make a decision，一个将会影响到你今后的一生的决定。
还说大家要团结友爱等等，组成一个fellowship。
总之是听得稀里糊涂，星期五的活动是针对国际学生的，比较浅显，而且将首先从大家的life, culture讲起，慢慢再讲到bible，以后只参加这个活动了。
结束以后本想回家，正好旁边Bryan Hall有个机房，就进来上机了。
这里轰隆隆的，地板还一直抖，真不舒服，不知何解。
回去了，明天上午还要上课。

搞定了blog
通过我们系的CGI支持把movable type给run起来了。
可是如果按照系里指定的路径进行MT的设置将使得他很多文件找不到。
如果自己指定路径则不能使CGI以我的账户运行，而是以nobody账户运行，这也带来一些问题。
MT还存在的问题是速度慢，在改动了一些东西以后经常需要rebuild site，很麻烦。
MovableType毕竟是老牌的Blog软件，以前也用过一点点，觉得顺手就用它了。
以后发现什么问题再换吧，反正现在软件多得很。
这个blog的目的是我写一些在UVa的学习生活的日记，宝宝也可以进来记你的日记。
