The Jungle Bungalow Gallery

The Jungle Bungalow was so great we didn't want to leave. It's the perfect romantic hideaway!

``The Bungalow was absolutely fabulous! We definitely got the tropical feel of being somewhere in a remote jungle on a volcanic island in the middle of wild nature, which was some kind of a dream. The Bungalow was a two story building with a living room and kitchen on the first floor, and a bedroom, TV, and bathroom on the second. There was an ourside stairway to go upstairs. The shower was outside in a shady corner of the back yard, surrounded by papaya trees, mango trees, and other tropical plants. This design made the Bungalow quite unique and matched very well the exotic "outdoors" feel of "jungle safari". It forced you to be "one with nature". Taking an outdoors shower in the middle of an exotic forest in your own back yard was something beyond description! The place was perfectly private and totally isolated and you could run around naked if you wanted to. Around the Bungalow you really felt like you were a part of the prestine jungle. To make the effect stronger, the Bungalow was surrounded by lush vegetation and tropical plants like the ones you only see in Tarzan movies, and you could see some volcanic ridges rising in the distance. A mountain creek was roaring nearby making sounds like those of a heavy tropical rain. There were no drapes or shades on the windows, and the bedroom window spanned the entire width of one wall and half the other wall, so even indoors you felt like you were outside in the open. It was quite exotic! I never seen anything like it in all my travels. Ann loved it too. I think the Bungalow affected our whole impression of the island. We felt like we were in the middle of some movie about prehistoric times when volcano eruptions created mountains, and dynasours ruled the earth. In fact, the movie Jurrassic Park was filmed on Kauai, somehwere not too far from the Bungalow. Ann and I almost felt like we could meet some of those wild creatures in the darkness of the night if we wandered into the wilderness far enough. -- Tarek's Diary, June 28th, 1999.''
