My Poetry (see award info)
and my favorite poetry links

I thought I knew what love meant... I thought I wrote poetry to describe it... until she crossed my way... That's when I realized... I was in love for the first time... My poems seemed so pale and meaningless... I decided to remove them all and start anew... with her!.. Now we are writing our first poem together... when it is complete... so will our happiness be... It goes something like this:

Amidst the ruins of my heart
        a soothing light comes through
I wish for a new start
        sincere and true..
        to share with you

From within the darkness I walk
Out into the light, I can once again see
It is time to begin anew
	    Timid and afraid
As in the light I join you
Afraid of what has been and could be

         So fearful and fragile
	 your beams caress my soul
	 your laughter makes me smile
	 I follow my heart's call
	 Are our feelings true?
	 asks me my mind
	 will I be left behind
or let to live for you?

Your innocence and sweetness make me smile
	    Putting my heart together again
	    Though it may take awhile
	    Before my heart can
Truly be whole as it flies
I do not know wherein my destiny lies
	    Can it be true?
	    Does it lie with you?
	    We shall see

I want to see your eyes
tell me what's meant to be
	 what lies in store ahead
	 for you and me
	 but say no lies...
	 just how you feel
	 Are you for real?
	 Or is it fantasy?

            With breathless sighs
I open my soul to destiny
	    For it is said
	    What will be, will be
	    My heart no longer cries
You have broken the inpenetrable seal
	    Do I dare believe?
	    Are you meant for me?

I met you in a lonely world.
	 Your soul sheltered my heart
	 From sorrow, loneliness and cold.
	 Promise we'll never part!
Have faith! Let's take each other's hand,
	 Say we can't go astray!
	 Why would cruel destiny demand
	 The joy we found today?

            Here I stand
	    Not knowing what to say
	    Take me by the hand
	    Do not go away
	    Since I have met you
	    I cannot say nay
	    What should I do?
	    Will your love always stay?

I need your warmth to guide me thru
	 The perils of the day.
My love is true and it's for you!
	 It will not fade away!
Let us protect the bond we share..
	 Aspire to our dream..
Maybe we found a beacon where
Some things are what they seem!

My heart will soon be whole
	    And again it will soar
	    Completing my soul
	    I cannot ask for more
We have goals of our own
	    Is it worth a try
	    We will be shown
	    And the time is nigh

I'll help you to break free
        from shadows in your past
I hope time lets us see
that we can build to last

           With you here by me
           Shadows are no longer cast
           I am completely free
           Help me forget my past

I want to give you all
that's in my hands to give
I want to break the wall
and show you how to live!

I want to give you all I can
	   All on my own
	   You are the sweetest man
	   I have ever known

        I never lived before
        Until you lit my way
        Now all I'm living for
        is you day after day!

           I have never wanted more
Than what I could get my own way
           You have opened the door
I see the light of day

        I can't imagine how
my heart will stand the pain
if what you give me now
        dissolves in summer rain

           My heart is full now
           Full of love for you
           This I will vow
I will do all I can do

        I want to promise you
a love that's pure and strong
All that you need to do
is trust we can't be wrong!

           A love deep and pure
           Starting from just names
           A love steady and sure
           Like the heart it tames.
