+The CS department stores home directories and project directories on ZFS, a filesystem that includes native support for backup snapshots.  We take snapshots every 24 hours at staggered intervals after 8pm, and store them for one month.
+If you need a file restored from a backup snapshot, please send a helpdesk ticket to //cshelpdesk@virginia.edu// and include the full path name of the file (for example "/u/abc1de/public_html/myexcellentresearch"), and the date of the backup needed (ex. "from two days ago").
