About the dataset

This dataset was developed to study the online ecosystem surrounding the “Make America Healthy Again” (MAHA) movement and related public health discourse. It is based on large-scale Reddit data spanning six years and covers 12 MAHA-adjacent themes.

The themes include mainstream health topics, such as exercise, whole foods, and screen use, as well as contested topics, such as vaccines, masks, genetically modified organisms, fluoride, and related anti-science narratives. Posts were analyzed using a tree-based few-shot large language model pipeline that classified thematic stance as pro, anti, or neutral.

Controlled access: the dataset is not posted publicly. Access requests are reviewed to confirm the requester’s identity, institutional affiliation, research purpose, and agreement to acknowledge use of the data.
