Setting up Pine (Alpine) for IMAP Gmail

To be able to use Pine (Alpine) to receive your IMAP Gmail
- Enable IMAP on your Gmail account
- Sign into Gmail
- Click Settings
- Click the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab
- Select Enable IMAP
- Save Changes
- Open Pine (Alpine) on one of the interactive servers
- Type MSLA (Main>Setup>colletionLists>Add) and add the following collection:
Nickname : Gmail (or whatever you would like to name the folder) Server : imap.gmail.com/ssl/user=youruserid@gmail.com (ex: dlg5u@gmail.com) Path : View :
- Set-up SMTP to use the Gmail server to send email from your Gmail account
