Friday Poem

About the Christmas spirit.

Untitled Poem

There’s something kind of odd to see
  about the Christmas season;
It’s like it somehow sets us free
  to act like love was reason.
Why does it take mythology,
  with Santa and with yule,
To make us act like Christians, free
  of greeds oppressive rule?
To give a gift, it seems to me,
  is always good to do,
And wishing well of all we see
  is wise the whole year through.

Yes, something’s odd in Christmas season;
It stands alone for no clear reason.
Of all the year, it is the part
When it’s OK to show your heart.
