Friday Poem

The ideal customer for the traveling purveyor of dapper caps.

Untitled Poem

Glistening in the morning light
Like rhinestones on a stage at night
There comes a most amazing sight:
  A haberdasher’s cart.
The milliner I usually use
Has recently increased his dues
But I have few from which to choose
    The caps I oft must buy.
I am a painter by my trade
And in the way my work is made
My hat with paint is often sprayed
  As I pursue my art.
But I’m affected in my dress
And splattered hats cause me distress
So each hat lasts a week or less;
    Thus to his cart I fly!
