Friday Poem

Statues failing to communicate the relative might of swords and pens.

Untitled Poem

An iron statue, sword in hand, majestic, clad in rust, Erected by an editor, maintained by Authors’ Trust. It was to be a symbol of the sword’s extensive might, The tree-sized sword stretched to the sky an awe-inspiring sight. That goal most viewers do agree the editor achieved; The other goal they rarely see, what has the A.T. grieved. That other goal was that the rust upon that awesome blade Would contrast with the other statue that of bronze was made. The bronze is free of rust, ’tis true, but few there even see The life-sized statue of a pen, large only to a flea.
