Friday Poem

Tips about tips

I wrote this many years ago, but recently realized it was not readily accessible online so I thought I’d post it.

If I were writing this today I’d say “‍I’m poor, yet despite exiguity / I struggle …‍” because who longs for scantiness? But I was more prolific and less careful in my writing back in 2005 when I wrote this.

Poem 263

The wealthy, with much superfluity Preserved into long perpetuity The habit of giving gratuity Displaying their lack of acuity. I long, being poor, exiguity But struggle with much assiduity To bolster the waiters’ annuity Despite that I think it fatuity.
