The CS Systems Staff Portal can be found at this URL: http://www.cs.virginia.edu/staff_portal

The “Portal” is a web application that was written to simplify host and user management for our systems. Users can submit the MAC Address for new hosts so that they are issued IP addresses by our DHCP server. New host hostnames are also added to DNS server under the cs.Virginia.EDU zone. More information about our DHCP and DNS servers can be found here.

User accounts can also be created by the portal. This includes both Windows and Unix accounts.

To get to the host management page, click Hosts under Tools on the sidebar menu (#1 below). This brings up a table of hosts currently in our system. To create a new host click New Host (#2). You can also search for existing hosts based on hostname, MAC Address, IP or Owner (#3,#4). To edit an existing host, click Edit Host after selecting the host you want.
