Friday Poem

A ramble about humor.

Do not mistake this rhyme for my personal opinion. Gold is always welcome, and a man who memorizes The Hunting of the Snark might safely be assumed to have some penchant for nonsense.

Untitled Poem

A marvelous treasure-chest filled up with gold
Is doomed to leave me in the cold:
    Gold doesn’t sate,
    It isn’t that great.
I’d rather a chortle or two
For laughing at humor’s what I love to do.

But laughing at nonsense inspires my ire:
The goofy shall all die by fire!
    Don’t sully the name
    Of humor’s just fame.
If you can’t behave with decorum
Don’t peddle your nonsense in humor’s own forum.
