Friday Poem

A nightmare of sorts.

Unlike the bulk of my rhymes, this one is based on a true experience, the only bad dream I can recall having this decade.

Untitled Poem

In terror I awoke last night
Beside myself in abject fright
Because a dream most vivid came
Eight times that night, each time the same
And each time filled with dread.
I dreamed a program that I use
  Was broken by some hacker.
This was no mild blown-out fuse:
My printer chose me to abuse
  And lauded my attacker.
As reams of paper spewed out fast
I sought for some fix that might last.
My only choice was go without
For no quick fix could I find out…
And then I woke in bed.
I took a breath, went back to sleep
  Again the vision came
The repeatition made me weep:
  Eight times, each time the same;
    The dreaming plagued my head.
