Shutdown Procedure

Filesystems

The first thing that needs to be shut down are the fileservers and associated disk arrays.

  1. Perform a clean shutdown on zfs1 - zfs3. This can be done over ssh or via ILOM.
    1. Be sure a backup is not running. Run the script /root/backup_scripts/show_status to see the status of zpool backup jobs.
  2. Log into the web admin page for the E48 Disk a array. This link will take you to the reboot page. Log in with ADMIN:gettys and select System Shutdown.

Coresrvs

  1. Log onto each of the coresrv servers as root and, in no particular order, perform a graceful shutdown.

SLURM

The SLURM nodes can be shutdown at any time with minimal impact. slurm the SLURM controller should be brought down gracefully to avoid issues like FS errors that could cause problems bringing the controller back online.
