Describes the usage of GenAI tools within the Department of Computer Science’s computing environment.

GenAI Tools may be used within the CS department’s computing environment, provided that the usage and data used adheres to the University Policy found here: (UVA GenAI Guidelines).

Access and Licensing for GenAI tools should be sought through the University’s Information Technology Services (ITS) to ensure that data protection standards are in place for the usage of each respective tool.

The CS computing environment does not support the storage or usage of highly sensitive data.
